COVID

Drop off procedures

  • All families will pull up to their designated side of the building and escort their child to the classroom
  • All families and guests must wear a mask while inside the building regardless of vaccination
  • In the event of weather please use main entrance with awning
  • Students must arrive between 7:30am-9am

Pick up procedures

  • All families will pull up to their designated side of the building and pick up their child from the classroom
  • All families and guests must wear a mask while inside the building regardless of vaccination
  • In the event of weather please use main entrance with awning

Meal times

  • All meal times will take place in the client’s classroom
  • Staff will ensure all clients wash their hands before meal times and after each meal
  • Disposable cups will be used for students while on the playground and in class

Personal Belongings

  • Backpacks will be brought to school on Monday and go home Friday. No backpacks going back and forth throughout the week. Please ensure you pack enough clothing, diapers, etc in your child’s bag to last a full week

Sanitation

  • All surfaces will be wiped down throughout the day
  • Door knobs, light switches, and bathroom areas will be sprayed down with Lysol or bleach mixture  after each use
  • Teachers will schedule frequent staff guided hand washing breaks
  • At the end of the day all staff will disinfect classrooms, bathrooms, and common areas with bleach and water solution
  • ALL staff will wear face masks at all times
  • Staff are utilizing a daily checklist of sanitation requirements
  • Commercial cleaning services are scheduled 3 times per week

If COVID-19 is confirmed in a child or staff member the following procedures will be taken:

  • Close off areas used by the person who is sick.
  • Wait up to 24 hours or as long as possible before clean or disinfect to allow respiratory droplets to settle before cleaning and disinfecting.
  • Notification of the Sarasota County Health Department (The Health Department is responsible for closure)
  • Clean and disinfect all areas used by the person who is sick, such as offices, bathrooms, and common areas
  • All cleaning products used at Selby are approved by the CDC
  • All families will be notified of exposure

Hand washing

  • Frequent handwashing and sanitization breaks have been implemented
  • Staff will monitor hand washing upon entry, before and after meals, and after toileting

Education & Remote learning

  • In the event of a school closure remote learning will be available within 48 hours and posted to the school class dojo page

Health
Any client who is symptomatic during program hours will be required to wear a face mask and will be separated from others until they can go home. The following symptoms have been identified by the CDC:

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of taste or smell

Staffing

  • Staff have been encouraged to stay home if they exhibit signs of illness and not travel out of county
  • Any Staff with an elevated reading, and/or who is suspected to have coronavirus, will be sent home immediately, and self-quarantined for a period of 14 days. Staff would be required to return to work with a letter from a healthcare professional noting they are symptom free.

Social Distancing

  • We will encourage all students to maintain 6 feet of distance from one another

Therapy

  • Therapists are required to have a temperature check and wear a mask at all times
  • All preschool therapists will wear face shields during treatment
  • Preschool therapists will wash hands before and after treating each child
  • Preschool therapists will have hand sanitizer and all therapy equipment and toys will be sanitized after each use
  • Academy behaviorists will have a temperature check and be required to wear a mask throughout the entire day

Communication

  • Updates regarding generic programming will be communicated through the agency Facebook page & your child’s class dojo account
  • Should a client or staff member test positive for COVID 19 the program director will inform all parents and staff and a short-term closure of 2-5 days will be implemented to determine next steps on when re-opening can occur
  • Remote learning will be available within 48 hours and posted on the school class dojo account

**Please note that all education staff are vaccinated against COVID**
